Policy & Advocacy Leadership
Impactful education policies
The Tennessee Charter School Center Policy & Advocacy team works to monitor and influence impactful education policies in support of charter schools.
Autonomy, innovation and high-quality choices
In 2002, the Tennessee General Assembly passed legislation that opened the doors for autonomy, innovation and high-quality choices in public education to the state through the creation of charter schools.
The Tennessee Charter School Center leads the way in Tennessee to monitor and influence impactful education policies in support of charter schools and we are focused on ensuring that the state’s policy environment continues to enhance this progress.
Our approach to supporting (or standing in opposition to) proposed legislation is aligned with both the core values of our organization and driven by the principles that fair bills and outcomes offer:
Transparency
High potential schools have the support they need to achieve and sustain excellence.
Quality
Autonomy
Accountability
