About The TCSC Membership
Since 2013, the Tennessee Charter School Center has led critical work in advocacy, school support, and policy on behalf of public charter schools across the state. Now our work, and Tennessee’s public charter school sector, is being strengthened by true partnership with Tennessee’s public charter schools through membership. Beyond supporting our vital advocacy efforts, members gain exclusive access to:

Quality School Support
- Meetings with elected officials and legislators: Engage directly with policymakers through events that we host at the Capitol including our Day On the Hill.
- Weekly legislative calls to stay informed on key developments: Stay informed in real-time about state laws and initiatives that will affect your schools.
- Input on TCSC's legislative agenda, ensuring your voice is heard: Help shape our agenda and make sure your interests are translated into real change.
- Governing board training and data/research support: Meet your board’s legal requirements. We also help you answer critical questions for your school through data analysis and original research.
- Communication support, including crisis management: Receive support from our experienced communication’s and advocacy staff should the unexpected happen.

BoardSmart: Board and Governance Training & Certification
- Board certification ensures that all members involved in making influential decisions are knowledgeable and qualified. TCSC provides charter boards across Tennessee with impactful training and certification opportunities on a yearly basis to better support the operations, development, and sustainability of high-quality schools. (Note: Per TN law, TCSC is required to certify that boards have completed board training requirements annually.)

Board Training
Board Training Open NOW
Board certification ensures that all members involved in making influential decisions are knowledgeable and qualified. Additionally, it’s required by law for all new and returning board members.
TCSC makes board members’ mandatory annual training available to all member schools. (Note: Per TN law, TCSC is required to certify that boards have completed board training requirements annually.)

Frequently Asked Questions

If you would like more information and or have questions about the TCSC membership, you reach out to robert@tnchartercenter.org.
You can sign up for Board on Track without a TCSC Membership! Board on Track is $1,250 per year. You can sign up for the training only here.
Once you sign up for your TCSC membership or Board on Track membership, you will login with the username and password created during sign up. You can login to your member portal here and navigate to the 'Courses' tab to access your course.
Once you login to your member portal, navigate to the 'Subscriptions' tab. You will see the option for 'Sub Accounts'. Once you select 'Sub Accounts', you will have the option to manually add your board members, or you can send them a URL for them to sign up with themselves. They will receive their username and password via email to access their member portal and course.
Fill out the form below to join or renew your TCSC membership. Once we receive your payment, your account will be approved. When your account is approved, your schools can fill out the following form here to gain access to the membership portal. Your schools will need to fill out this form each year when you renew to receive access to new membership content and training.
Board on Track training and TCSC Memberships do not auto-renew.
Board on Track Members:
To renew your Board on Track training, login to your member portal and navigate to the 'Subscriptions' tab. Next to your subscription, you will see the option to renew. Select 'Renew' to update your member information and pay to renew your membership.
TCSC Members:
Each year, please submit the renewal form below. We will approve your account once payment is received, and you will see your membership content for the new year!
For new members, you will receive a link via email to with your account information for your TCSC or Board on Track member account once your check is received.
If you are returning member, you will submit the renewal form below. Once payment is received, you will be able to login with your credentials from the year prior and gain access to new membership content and training!
